About me

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and choosing the right person to work with is an important part of that process. At the heart of this work is the relationship between us.

I offer a 15-minute initial telephone consultation where we can talk through what you’re looking for, what you hope to gain, and whether working together feels right.

After a career in marketing and taking time to raise my three children, I discovered a passion for supporting others through life’s challenges.  I retrained as a counsellor and I now run my own private practice.
I became a therapist through my own journey of self-discovery, exploring my identity and experiences.  It has been transformative and it is what drives me to want to help others. This motivation has been further underpinned by my counselling qualifications and my acceptance as a Registered member of the BACP.
I am warm and approachable and I see the work I do as a privilege.  I believe in meeting people with honesty and respect, and in building a trusting relationship where they feel safe to explore themselves, their experiences and their relationships at a deeper level. I take a thoughtful and conscientious approach, reflecting on each individual and how best to support them in a way that feels right for them.
I understand how people often overlook or minimise their own struggles, without realising, and I hold space for all experiences, including those shaped by trauma, illness, life transitions or awareness of mortality.
I do not give advice or try to “fix” my clients; instead, I help them find meaning in their experiences, fostering personal growth, healing, and a greater sense of balance and agency.
Through my experience both as a client and as a counsellor, I have seen how therapy can support healing and help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships - insights and changes that can be difficult to access elsewhere in daily life. My ongoing commitment to self-awareness informs my work, allowing me to connect authentically with clients and support them as they explore their identity and move towards change.

My story

As well as running my own private practice, I have worked/work for different counselling agencies including Nightingale Cancer Support and Pegasus Men’s Wellbeing Centre.  In both these settings, I provide mental health support to help my clients overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and relationship issues.  I also have experience supporting parents as they navigate the often challenging school years - a time when stress levels can run high and emotions can feel overwhelming.
